You won’t hear Jameer Nelson complaining about the hand he was dealt.
The veteran NBA point guard became a member of the Boston Celtics on Thursday as part of the trade that sent Rajon Rondo to the Dallas Mavericks. Suddenly, Nelson has gone from a team in contention to a team very much in rebuilding mode.
A lot of players in his position might gripe. Nelson did anything but Friday, tweeting he felt “truly blessed” to be headed to Boston.

Nelson, 32, signed a two-year, $5.6 million contract with Dallas as a free agent last summer after 10 seasons with the Orlando Magic. He averaged 7.3 points and 4.1 assists with the Mavericks, while shooting 36 percent from three.
The Mavericks traded Nelson to the Celtics as part of a package that included Jae Crowder, Brandan Wright, a conditional first-round draft pick, a 2016 second-round pick and a $12.9 million trade exception for Rondo and Dwight Powell.
