John Wall’s emotions Monday night had nothing to do with basketball.

Wall was instrumental in helping his Washington Wizards defeat the Boston Celtics, scoring Washington’s final 10 points in a 133-132, double-overtime win.

Before tipoff, the All-Star had dedicated the game to Damiyah Telemaque-Nelson, a 6-year-old girl whom he befriended who died Monday of cancer. Wall was able to keep his emotions in check on the court, but during his postgame interview, he broke down.

Wall finished with 26 points and a career-high 17 assists in the win.
