The much-anticipated rematch between Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic and Columbus Blue Jackets defensemen Dalton Prout occurred during the second period of Saturday night’s game at Nationwide Arena.

Less than three minutes into the period, Lucic and Prout dropped their gloves in the Blue Jackets zone for one of the most entertaining fights of the season, with both players landing some powerful jabs.

Lucic and Prout were involved in a quick fight when these teams met in Columbus on Nov. 21. Prout knocked Lucic to the ice with one punch even though the Bruins winger didn’t want to engage. Lucic called Prout’s actions “gutless,” and there was little doubt the two would square off again when these teams resumed their season series.

In fact, Lucic and Prout now have fought three times in the NHL.
