Alabama quarterback Blake Sims took a big hit in the second quarter of the SEC championship game Saturday, but so did Missouri’s defense.

Missouri defensive lineman Shane Ray was ejected from the game early in the second quarter for targeting after a clear helmet-to-helmet hit on Sims.

To make matters worse for the No. 16 Tigers, Sims was able to get the pass off in time and connect on a perfect 58-yard touchdown throw to DeAndrew White.

Ray entered the game with an SEC-best 12 sacks on the season.

Alabama rolled to a 42-13 win to capture the conference title.
