Mo’ne Davis Named Sports Illustrated’s ‘Sports Kid Of The Year’ (Photo)

Mo’ne Davis’ Christmas gift came early this year.

The 13-year-old star from this year’s Little League World Series has been named the “SportsKid of the Year” by Sports Illustrated Kids.

The Taneytown Little League pitcher captured the hearts of many Americans this past summer, as she became the first girl to win a LLWS game. She has continued to be in the spotlight even after the tournament came to a close — throwing the first pitch at a Los Angeles Dodgers game back in September, appearing on the cover of Sports Illustrated and appearing in an inspiring Chevy car commercial.

First Lady Michelle Obama and Davis’ hometown Philadelphia Phillies and both sent Davis personal congratulations on the honor.
