Patrice Bergeron’s First-Period Goal Ties Bruins-Blue Jackets Game (Video)

The Columbus Blue Jackets got on the board first Saturday night, but it took the Boston Bruins just 20 seconds to answer.

Scott Hartnell scored for Columbus 8:11 into the first period, and the Bruins’ defense turned it right around to help Boston net one of its own. Defenseman Zdeno Chara sent the puck along the boards to Reilly Smith, who delivered it to Patrice Bergeron. Bergeron then used some nice stick work to fake out Columbus’ defense and get the puck past Blue Jackets goaltender Curtis McElhinney.

Despite the smooth moves, the Blue Jackets downed the Bruins 6-2.
