The New England Patriots made a few roster moves prior to their Sunday matchup with the Buffalo Bills.

Alfonzo Dennard was placed on injured reserve Saturday after suffering a hamstring injury in practice. The 25-year-old cornerback was a starter to begin the season but was a healthy scratch for most of the second half. He already had been ruled out Friday.

As a result, Josh Boyce was signed from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. The 23-year-old wide receiver hasn’t seen the turf this season after playing in nine games in 2013, but he might get a chance to play Sunday. Brandon LaFell (shoulder) and Julian Edelman (thigh/concussion) likely will get some much-needed rest for their injuries before the Patriots’ playoff bye week.

New England also released defensive lineman Cam Henderson from the practice squad and signed defensive back Daxton Swanson. Swanson had spent most of the season on the Pats’ practice squad before being released Tuesday.
