Ryan Allen has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after his performance Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.
Allen received the honor for the first time in his career after punting five times for an average of 49.4 yards, including one 60-yarder. Four of those punts pinned the Chargers on or inside their 13-yard line.
This is the third time this season a member of the Patriots has won the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week award. Defensive lineman Chris Jones and wide receiver Julian Edelman also received the honor.
