Jonathan PapelbonJonathan Papelbon could be planning his exit.

Papelbon, who has been the subject of trade rumors for more than two years, is selling his $6.9 million Philadelphia condo, PhillyMag.com pointed out Tuesday. The Phillies closer and his wife paid $4.6 million for the pad back in July 2012, according to Philly.com.

Papelbon’s condo, which is located steps away from Rittenhouse Square in central Philadelphia, includes four bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms, according to its listing on Realtor.com. It is 4,166 square feet and features a four-car garage. The unit was built in 2011.

Papelbon is coming off a strong 2014 season in which he recorded 39 saves and a 2.04 ERA, yet there reportedly hasn’t been much trade interest in the five-time All-Star, partly because of his declining peripherals and partly because of his big contract. The former Boston Red Sox right-hander is owed $13 million next season and also has a $13 million option for 2016 that vests with 55 games finished in 2015 or 100 games finished in 2014-15.

Papelbon’s current neighbors reportedly include teammates Cliff Lee and Ryan Howard, though their respective futures also are unclear as Philadelphia looks to rebuild following a disappointing campaign.
