Report: Haloti Ngata Says He Took Adderall To Gain Energy For Dealing With Kids

The holidays can be a stressful time for everyone — just ask Haloti Ngata.

The Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle was suspended for four games earlier this week for violating the NFL’s drug policy. Ngata tested positive for Adderall, and his reasoning for using the drug is one you don’t always hear.

Ngata reportedly insists he wasn’t trying to gain an edge by taking the stimulant. CBSSports.com reports Ngata actually used the drug to gain energy in dealing with the holiday stress and keeping up with his three children.

Of course, NFL players also have been known to use the drug before games to gain a mental edge, so it’s tough to say what the story really is.

Ngata took full responsibility for the suspension shortly after the ban was announced.
