Report: Rajon Rondo ‘Open’ To Re-Signing With Mavericks, Rockets If Traded

Rajon Rondo could be headed to the Lone Star State.

The Celtics point guard likely is on his way out of town, with the team reportedly in serious talks with the Dallas Mavericks about a swap that could give Boston a first-round draft pick and center Brandan Wright. The Houston Rockets reportedly also have emerged as suitors, with the New York Knicks, Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Lakers all interested, too.

But it’s the Texas teams that Rondo is interested in staying with long term. A league source told Ken Berger of CBS Sports that Rondo is “open” to re-signing with “at least” those two teams.

Rondo shrugged off the trade rumors following Wednesday’s win over the Orlando Magic, reiterating that he would like to remain in Boston. But ’tis the season for speculation to abound — especially around a star who’s in the final year of his current contract.
