Bill Belichick might not give weather forecasters the time of day, but that doesn’t mean fans don’t have a watchful eye on the skies.
The New England Patriots head coach laid the verbal smackdown on meteorologists earlier this season, but it’s worth pointing out some potentially nasty weather heading toward Foxboro for Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.
The forecast seems to indicate the Patriots and Indianapolis Colts will be dealing not with snow — like they did in the 2003 AFC Championship Game — but rather heavy rain for their latest playoff showdown.
Celebrity weatherman Jim Cantore tweeted this Doppler radar forecast Saturday afternoon.

Foxboro and the surrounding area is seeing sunny skies and bitterly cold weather Saturday, but the temperature is expected to rise overnight. A relatively clear night will give way to clouds and eventual rain, according to forecasts.
The Weather.com forecast for Sunday calls for a 70 percent chance of occasional rain in the afternoon. However, as it gets later, the chance of rainfall is expected to climb. The forecast indicates “rain likely,” with rainfall nearing an inch and a 100 percent chance of rain.
The two teams met last postseason at Gillette Stadium in the AFC divisional playoff under rainy skies as pouring rain fell for much of the game. The Patriots cruised to a 43-22 win.
Of course, the forecast is subject to change. Just ask Belichick.
