The Boston Bruins have played six straight games without losing in regulation (3-0-3) and find themselves back in a wild card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference as a result.
Boston’s latest win was a 3-0 shutout over the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night at TD Garden. The B’s dominated the Devils with a 43-14 shots on goal advantage. In fact, the 14 shots Boston gave up was its lowest total of the season.
The Bruins return to game action Saturday afternoon against the Philadelphia Flyers. It’s Boston’s first game in Philadelphia this season and the second meeting overall (Bruins won 2-1 on opening night in Boston).
Bruins forward Loui Eriksson is a game-time decision for Bruins-Flyers after missing Thursday’s game with an injury. The injury occurred when he was slashed by Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Robert Bortuzzo on Wednesday night. Tuukka Rask is the likely choice to start in net after backup goaltender Niklas Svedberg played Thursday.
The Flyers must receive quality performances from leading scorers Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek to have any chance of beating the Bruins. Voracek leads the NHL in scoring with 49 points.
