It’s never easy playing back-to-back nights in the NHL, but getting a guy like Brad Marchand back in the lineup certainly doesn’t hurt.

The Boston Bruins will play their second game in as many nights when they take on the Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center on Wednesday night. Boston once again will have the services of Marchand, who returns to the lineup after serving a two-game suspension for slew-footing New York Rangers forward Derick Brassard.

The Avs haven’t played since Monday, so they’ll be plenty rested for Wednesday night’s game. But Marchand will be ready to go as well, and NESN’s Billy Jaffe believes the winger can give Boston the extra boost it might need.

“You’re playing a team that is rested, but yet you get a guy back in like Marchand that can bring some energy,” Jaffe said before the game. ” … For me, in a tough game situation, I love getting a key player back like this to help elevate the energy.”
