Brady Poppinga: Rob Gronkowski Must Be More Than Decoy For Patriots

The Seattle Seahawks linebacker told reporters “I’ve got my money on Kam” Chancellor when the All-Pro safety matches up with New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski in Super Bowl XLIX. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll isn’t ready be be as boastful, but everyone on Seattle’s side realizes containing Gronk will be key.

Former NFL linebacker Brady Poppinga doesn’t think the Patriots will be able to win the game by using Gronk merely as a decoy.

“The Patriots will be facing the most complete defense they’ve seen all year,” Poppinga writes on FootballbyFootball.com. “The Patriots’ best chance for victory is gashing the Seattle defense with their best offensive weapon. Seattle knows it, and is preparing accordingly.”
