Some Arsenal fans are fed up with manager Arsene Wenger. One of them might have let him know personally Thursday.

A fan ran onto the field late in Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to Southampton at St. Mary’s stadium and appeared to confront Wenger as he was watching the game from the Gunners’ dugout. The fan jogged past the Arsenal bench with his arms out in apparent frustration before stewards apprehended him and handed him over to police, who arrested him, according to the BBC.

Southampton claims the fan is an Arsenal supporter, but Wenger doesn’t believe the fan could have run unimpeded for 45 yards from the end of the stadium which housed the visiting Gunners all the way to the bench.

“It was a young boy,” Wenger said after the game, according to the Telegraph. “I think he was a Southampton fan. He was not aggressive at all. I don’t think he said anything. Honestly, he was not aggressive.”

Wenger, 65, is in his 19th year as Arsenal’s manager. Arsenal ended a nine-year trophy drought by winning last season’s FA Cup, but fans’ frustrations remain high after the Gunners’ slow start in 2014-15. Arsenal sits fifth in the standings with 33 points after 20 games. Southampton nosed ahead in the race for fourth place with Thursday’s win.

The teams will play 18 more games this season. It’s unlikely that this angry fan will attend any of them.
