Brandon Bass thought he had a clear line on an easy dunk. Derrick Favors disagreed.

The Utah Jazz big man came out of nowhere during the first quarter of Monday night’sĀ game against the Boston Celtics to deny Bass at the rim in authoritative fashion.

The Jazz are among the NBA’s best at swatting away shots, thanks in large part to the contributions of Favors (1.6 blocks per game) and 7-foot-1 center Rudy Gobert (2.2). Gobert also come up with a block during the first quarter Monday, turning away a Marcus Thornton layup attempt.
