Jon “Bones” Jones is expected to be in Foxboro this weekend.

Jones’ mother told WBNG in Binghamton, N.Y., that the UFC champion, who checked into rehab last week after testing positive for cocaine, spent only one night in the drug program. She also revealed that Jones plans to attend Sunday’s AFC Championship Game between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts, as his two brothers — Chandler (Patriots) and Arthur (Colts) — are playing in the contest at Gillette Stadium.

Jones recently defeated Daniel Cormier at UFC 182, extending his winning streak to 12 fights. The light heavyweight champion tested positive in an unannounced drug test shortly before the fight, but the result of the bout was upheld because the test was considered out of competition.

Jones’ mother said her son is continuing to educate himself on the subject. She also thinks the positive test might have been a blessing in disguise.

“I’m glad that this happened to Jon. This stopped him in his tracks, this let him know that he may need to change some friends, you know, because everyone is not for you for the best,” Jones’ mother, Camille, told WBNG. “So this is a good thing as far as our family is concerned, so we wasn’t upset. Me and my husband considered it a blessing from God that our child was able to be helped and know that he need to stop and know that he needed the assistance to stop before it came to something worse.”

Jon (27) is between Chandler (24) and Arthur (28) in terms of age.
