Justin Tuck: Giants Are Reason Tom Brady Isn’t Greatest QB Of All Time

There aren’t many blemishes on Tom Brady’s legendary resume, and he’s obviously in the conversation about the greatest quarterbacks ever.

However, two big Super Bowl losses — both against the New York Giants — are keeping him from being the greatest quarterback of all time, according to one member of both those Giants teams who beat Brady and the New England Patriots.

“If it wasn’t for the Giants, I think Brady would go down, no question, as the greatest quarterback to ever play the game,” former Giants defensive end Justin Tuck said on ESPN Radio via NJ.com. “So I’m glad we were able to steal two from him.”

“Steal” probably is a pretty good way of putting it, too. Brady and the Patriots came very close to winning both of those games before the Giants did just enough to pull away late and survive. And the logic isn’t totally off, either. If the Patriots had won both of those games, Brady would have an insane 5-0 Super Bowl record.

That being said, Brady can go a long way in furthering his case to be at or near the list. The Patriots are home favorites Sunday in the AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts. A win means Brady would become just the sixth player to play in six Super Bowls and give him a chance to win that elusive fourth ring.
