Keith Olbermann knew Stuart Scott from the very beginning of his time at ESPN, and then right to the end.

One day after Scott’s death, Olbermann eulogized his fellow former “SportsCenter” anchor Monday, lauding Scott’s “professional courage” in addition to the personal courage so many of his friends and associates have talked about since his death. Olbermann recalled moments from before Scott was a star at ESPN, when the network’s first prominent African-American anchor had to fight to keep his trademark on-air style.

Scott’s death was met with an outpouring of support, from former co-host Rich Eisen on the NFL Network and his colleagues at ESPN to the President of United States himself.
