Kelly Olynyk might not see action for the Boston Celtics for quite some time.

The second-year Celtics big man injured his right ankle Thursday night after landing awkwardly on Thomas Robinson’s foot during the fourth quarter of Boston’s 90-89 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Olynyk exited the game, did not return and reportedly left the Moda Center on crutches. Head coach Brad Stevens said the center will not be available for Friday’s matchup with the Denver Nuggets and did not offer a timetable for Olynyk’s return.

“It sounds like he won’t be available the rest of the week and maybe beyond,” Stevens told reporters after the game, via CSNNE.com.

The Celtics still have four games remaining on their six-game Western Conference road trip. After playing the Nuggets in Denver, they’ll visit the Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves before returning home.

Olynyk is averaging 11.1 points and 5.4 rebounds over 40 games this season.
