Larry David: I Could Be NFL Coordinator With ‘Just A Little Studying’ (Audio)

Larry David has an answer for all of the New York Jets’ issues: Hire Larry David.

The funnyman made an appearance on Howard Stern’s radio show Wednesday, and the conversation turned to David’s beloved Jets. Maybe Gang Green should be taking a look in David’s direction for their ongoing coaching overhaul.

“I think with just a little studying, I think I could be a tremendous offensive coordinator — and defensive coordinator,” David said Wednesday. “I see many things that I know I can fix.”

David said he’s an “average” football fan, but his pedigree sounds incredible.

“When I was a kid and we’d play football in the parking lot,” he explained, “I’d design very good plays.”

That’s certainly better than anything anyone within the Jets’ organization could say in the last few years.

David would also be a bit of a revolutionary coach. He subscribes to the theory that says NFL teams punt way too much.

“I don’t think never, but I read this article that says the odds are in your favor if you don’t punt,” he said. “But teams don’t go for it enough. Teams should be going for it a lot more often than they do.”

Larry David, offensive/defensive coordinator and head coach for the New York Jets is something that needs to happen, and it needs to happen now.
