FOXBORO, Mass. — If Terrell Suggs’ goal is to get in the New England Patriots’ head, then it’s not going to work on LeGarrette Blount.

Blount won’t partake in any mind games Saturday in the Patriots’ divisional-round playoff matchup against Suggs’ Baltimore Ravens.

“I don’t care what he says,” Blount said when asked if he would defend Patriots quarterback Tom Brady if Suggs starts yapping. “He’s not on my team. I couldn’t care less what he says. I know he’s not going to say anything crazy or say anything that’s going to do anything.”

Suggs refuses to even say Brady’s name to the press, though the Patriots quarterback paid the Ravens pass rusher some high praise this week.

Blount went off for 76 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries last season in the Patriots’ 41-7 regular-season win over the Ravens. He had an even better game last year in the Patriots’ divisional-round playoff win over the Indianapolis Colts, rushing for 166 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries.

He’d love to have similar production Saturday against the Ravens.

“I want to play well all the time,” Blount said. “Some games aren’t gonna go as well as that game did. I’m always looking forward to having a good game. I’m never going to back down from anybody. I feel like I’m gonna play good against them.”

The Ravens have a stout front seven led by Suggs and two players over 335 pounds, defensive tackles Haloti Ngata and Brandon Williams. Running the ball and controlling the time of possession will be important in beating the Ravens, and Blount will be a key contributor for the Patriots.
