The end of the Cotton Bowl was painful for Baylor fans to watch. For Baylor kicker Chris Callahan, it was just painful.

With his team clinging to a six-point lead over Michigan State late in the game on New Year’s Day, Callahan had a chance to ice it with a 43-yard field goal. Michigan State blocked the kick, and as the Spartans ran the other way with the ball, Callahan tried to make the tackle.

It was a poor decision.

But yeah, someone probably should go check on him.

To make matters worse for the Bears, quarterback Connor Cook led the Spartans down the field to score the game-winning touchdown with just 17 seconds on the clock.

Baylor held a three-score lead entering the fourth quarter but allowed 21 straight points as Michigan State pulled off a dramatic 42-41 win. After that hit, though, Callahan might not remember any of it.

UPDATE (5:45 p.m. ET) — Good news, folks. Callahan is still with us.
