The start of Aaron Hernandez’s murder trial had to be delayed Thursday over issues with the jury, according to multiple courtroom reports.
One juror was experiencing snow-related travel problems and another was in the process of being replaced for an undisclosed reason, according to The Boston Globe. The jury was supposed to be sworn in at 9 a.m., with opening statements beginning shortly after, but Bristol Superior Court Judge E. Susan Garsh informed the court that a juror was running late.
Hernandez, a former tight end for the New England Patriots, is accused of the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd of Dorchester in a North Attleborough, Mass., industrial park. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty.
