It’s good to be Brandon Jennings lately.

The Detroit Pistons point guard has been reborn since the team waived forward Josh Smith last week, and things got even better for Jennings on Tuesday. After fighting back from an 18-point deficit to defending NBA champion San Antonio, the Pistons ended up winning the game on a wild sequence that began with the Spurs inbounding the ball while holding a one-point advantage.

And Jennings was the hero.

In the six games he has played since Smith was let go, Jennings has averaged 20.2 points on 50.5 percent shooting, including 45 percent shooting from three. He also has averaged 5.8 assists and just two turnovers per game for the Pistons, who have won all six of those games.
