Red Sox’s Dustin Pedroia ‘Motivated Like Never Before’ Going Into 2015

Dustin Pedroia is champing at the bit.

Pedroia is coming off a disappointing season that was cut short because of hand/wrist surgery. The Boston Red Sox second baseman remains as confident as ever, though. He’s eyeing a bounce-back campaign in 2015.

“I’m ready and motivated like never before,” Pedroia told the Boston Herald in a text message Tuesday.

Pedroia posted career-low numbers across the board in 2014. He hit .278 with seven homers, 53 RBIs and a .712 OPS. The 31-year-old has been hampered by injuries the last two seasons, but he’s finally fully healthy and thus ready for his usual laser show.

“I’m just shocked the balls I’ve been hitting haven’t hit your laptop from Arizona yet,” Pedroia told the Herald.

The Red Sox made several key additions this offseason that should help the club’s offense in 2015. But Pedroia’s return to form could be the most important development as Boston looks to turn the page on its second last-place finish in three seasons.

Pedroia sounds ready to get going.
