Andre Dawkins reportedly has agreed to become a Boston Celtic.

The sides have agreed to terms on a 10-day contract, league sources told RealGM’s Shams Charania on Wednesday.

An undrafted rookie out of Duke, Dawkins originally signed with the Miami Heat but has spent the bulk of his brief NBA career in the D-League, averaging 22.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists over 11 games with the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

The 23-year-old guard is expected to remain in the D-League and play out his 10-day deal with the Maine Red Claws, CSNNE.com’s A. Sherrod Blakely reported Tuesday. Staying in the minors will guarantee Dawkins playing time, as it would be highly difficult for him to break into the Celtics’ already crowded backcourt rotation.

The Red Claws visit the Erie BayHawks on Wednesday and the Delaware 87ers on Friday.
