The New England Patriots most likely want Darrelle Revis to sign a long-term deal, but they haven’t gotten around to talking about it.

Negotiations between the Pats and the All-Pro cornerback haven’t begun yet, per ProFootballTalk. Revis signed a one-year contract with New England in March that includes a $20 million club option for 2015.

Patriots fans shouldn’t fret, though. In all likelihood, Revis and the Patriots brass have been worrying more about, you know, beating the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX rather than contract negotiations.

What’s more, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday that New England hasn’t ruled out honoring the enormous option if the two sides aren’t able to work out a deal by late March. The Patriots have to honor the deal by that deadline or let him test the free agency waters.
