The Boston Celtics are reuniting with Nate Robinson, but the reunion might not last long.

The Celtics have agreed to trade Jameer Nelson to the Denver Nuggets for the guard, Yahoo! Sports’ Marc Spears and Adrian Wojnarowski reported Tuesday, citing league sources. However, Spears also reported that the Celtics are expected to buy out Robinson’s contract.

If that’s the case, the Los Angeles Clippers might be interested in Robinson, who would reunite with former Celtics coach Doc Rivers and forward Glen Davis there. The Clippers reportedly already were looking into a trade for Robinson, who played in Boston in 2009-10 and 2010-11.

Nelson played in just six games for the C’s after coming to Boston last month in the Rajon Rondo trade. Nelson’s trade to the Nuggets would make Jae Crowder the last remaining piece of that trade on the Celtics’ roster.

In other Celtics roster news, the team also reportedly is negotiating a buyout with veteran forward Tayshaun Prince, per Sports Illustrated. Prince was a piece of Sunday’s Jeff Green trade, but he never stepped on the court for the C’s.

UPDATE (10:07 p.m.): The Celtics announced the completion of the trade Tuesday night.
