NFL officials properly inspected the New England Patriots’ footballs before Sunday’s AFC Championship Game, according to a report.

ProFootballTalk.com reported Wednesday, via a league source, that the balls were properly checked before the game started and all came in at the legal PSI, ranging between 12.5 and 13.5.

After the Patriots were suspected of deflating the balls, the NFL launched a formal investigation. ESPN reported Tuesday night that 11 of New England’s 12 footballs were under-inflated by 2 pounds per square inch.

ProFootballTalk’s source said game officials likely wouldn’t have been able to tell a difference during the game just by handling the footballs from play to play.
