Tom Brady and Bill Belichick responded to the ongoing DeflateGate controversy. A far less prominent individual now is surfacing amid the drama.

Sources told FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer that the NFL has zeroed in on a New England Patriots locker room attendant who allegedly took footballs from the officials’ locker room and brought them to another area on his way to the field. The league reportedly has interviewed the attendant and has video.

The NFL still is gauging whether any wrongdoing occurred with the locker room attendant, but he is a strong person of interest, according to Glazer.

The Patriots, of course, are being investigated for allegedly supplying under-inflated footballs for their Jan. 18 AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots, who are preparing to play the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in Super Bowl XLIX, won the AFC title contest 45-7.
