The Boston Red Sox are reuniting with a World Series champion.
Outfielder Quintin Berry has agreed to a minor league contract with the Red Sox, according to WAPT’s Mike Perchick. The deal reportedly includes an invitation to major league spring training.
MLB Daily Dish’s Chris Cotillo also confirmed Berry’s deal with Boston.
Berry, of course, collected a World Series ring with the Red Sox in 2013. He appeared in 13 regular-season games and three playoff games with Boston that season, serving primarily as a pinch-runner.
Berry spent 2014 in the Baltimore Orioles organization. The 30-year-old appeared in 10 regular-season games with the O’s.
Berry, who’s known for his speed, broke into the majors with the Detroit Tigers in 2012. He swiped 21 bases in 94 big league games with the Tigers.
