Rex Ryan is already fitting in quite nicely with the locals.

The new head coach of the Buffalo Bills joined Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly for a beer at a bar near Ralph Wilson Stadium after arriving in town Tuesday and receiving a “Welcome Rex” pizza at the team’s facility.

Kelly had nothing but positive things to say about the hiring of Ryan, via his wife’s Instagram page:

“I am very excited about the hiring of Rex Ryan not only because of his coaching ability but also because of how he works with players and how players work for and respect him,” Kelly said in a statement on his wife’s Instagram. “He now has very talented players to go with the enthusiasm he brings to the locker room.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what he does on the offensive side of the ball. I’m also excited about Rex Ryan’s determination to bring winning football back to the RALPH, to the amazing Bills fans and to the great city and people of Buffalo! GO BILLS!”

Ryan’s Buffalo-filled day continued later that night, as he attended the Sabres’ home game against the Detroit Red Wings with some of his former New York Jets assistants.
