Much of the talk entering Super Bowl Media Day on Tuesday centered around DeflateGate. Luckily for all involved, the New England Patriots took the podiums and talked about everything but that controversy.

The Patriots made it clear from the get-go they weren’t going to entertain any questions about the ongoing saga. Eventually, those questions gave way to the zaniness that is Super Bowl media day. The results were glorious.

Media day seems made for players like Rob Gronkowski. The tight end stuck to his cue cards for much of his session, but he was more than willing to oblige when asked some light-hearted questions and even took the time to do some reading.

Head coach Bill Belichick, who’s never been mistaken for a social butterfly, even let down his guard a few times. The head coach came dressed for relaxation and had no reservations about discussing stuffed animals.
