Seattle Seahawks fans have been touted as some of the loudest and most dedicated in the NFL. The team even retired jersey No. 12 in honor of its devoted “12th Man” in the stands.

But they certainly didn’t live up to that reputation Sunday.

Seattle fans already had begun to leave CenturyLink Field in droves, with the Seahawks losing to the Green Bay Packers by 12 points and four minutes remaining in the NFC Championship Game. But the Seahawks sparked a wild comeback and eventually won the game in overtime, 28-22.

Seahawks fans who had left the stadium naturally wanted to return to their seats for the excitement, but as is practice in nearly every football stadium in the country, CenturyLink Field doesn’t allow re-entry. The sad folks who left early were forced to watch the crazy finish from outside the stadium and nearby bars.

And this, friends, is exactly why you never leave a game early if there’s even the slightest chance of your favorite team winning. Especially when a Super Bowl berth is on the line.
