The next stage of Steven Gerrard’s illustrious career will come in MLS.

The Liverpool superstar confirmed in an interview with LFC TV that he will indeed be joining Major League Soccer when his current contract ends, per Sky Sports. Gerrard announced earlier in the week that he would be leaving Liverpool after 17 seasons with the club.

It’s still unclear where in MLS the midfielder will land. The Los Angeles Galaxy and the two New York teams are thought to be potential candidates, according to reports.

The longtime captain is a Liverpool legend who will be stepping away with the club after a 25-year relationship. He’s made 695 appearances with the Reds, netting 180 goals during that time.
