Terrell Suggs’ Reaction To Tom Brady Complimenting Him: ‘Say What?’

Terrell Suggs has made it clear that he doesn’t like Tom Brady. Apparently the feeling no longer is mutual.

The Baltimore Ravens linebacker and New England Patriots quarterback have had a long history of entertaining trash talk, but Brady struck a different tune during his news conference Tuesday, calling Suggs “phenomenal” and a “smart player.”

As you might expect, Suggs was a little confused when he caught wind of Brady’s comments.

“Say what?” Suggs said Tuesday, via ESPN.com, when told that Brady had complimented him. “Did they record him? I’d love to see his face (when he said it).”

We can understand Suggs’ surprise. After all, the All-Pro linebacker was the same guy who questioned Brady’s Super Bowl rings after the 2010 season and even dissed Brady’s hairstyle during the 2013 campaign. Brady hasn’t been shy about returning the favor, but it seems he’s turning the page as his team prepares to take on the Ravens in the AFC divisional round Saturday.

For his part, Suggs wasn’t keen on elaborating on the bad blood between the two.

“It’s the same that all defensive players have with quarterbacks,” Suggs said. “He’s a quarterback; I’m a defender. He’s got a job to do; so do I. So, there’s naturally going to be some disagreements there.”
