CHANDLER, Ariz. — Breaking news: Tom Brady is mortal and prone to the common cold.

That’s what the New England Patriots quarterback is dealing with this week as his team prepares for their Super Bowl XLIX matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. Brady continued to sound congested during his meeting with reporters Thursday at the team’s hotel.

“I think I’ve been through it plenty of times,” Brady said. “You know, the winter months, like I said, it kind of ran through my house. I’m glad it happened early in the week. I feel a lot better. It was good to run around yesterday. I expect to be 100 percent on Sunday. I’ll be ready to go.”

Brady was a full participant in practice Wednesday, and his illness wasn’t mentioned on the injury report.

The week started with speculation that Brady could be suspended for the Super Bowl because of DeflateGate, and now we’re dealing with ColdGate. Sorry Jimmy Garoppolo, it’s not your turn yet.
