FOXBORO, Mass. — Tom Brady is still feeling the aftereffects of a post-play melee during the New England Patriots’ divisional-round playoff win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Brady was poked in the eye by Ravens rookie defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan on Saturday night after being sacked by Terrell Suggs and Pernell McPhee. Jernigan wasn’t flagged on the eye gouge that left a nasty red mark on Brady’s right eye.

Brady pleaded with referee Bill Vinovich “he poked me in the face!” to no avail, as heard on Showtime’s “Inside The NFL.”

Brady said the eye ailment isn’t affecting him.

“No, it was good,” Brady said Thursday at Gillette Stadium. “It was just part of the tussle of football. Everyone deals with obviously different things, so this one is nothing fortunately.”

Brady didn’t appear to be bothered as he led his team to a fourth-quarter comeback victory. Brady was even joking about it during his news conference Thursday.

“It’s a good move, the eye gouge,” Brady said laughing. “You can’t even do that in professional wrestling.”
