Something clearly needs to change for the Boston Bruins, and goaltender Tuukka Rask has an idea or two that might help his team out.
The Bruins fell to the lowly Carolina Hurricanes in a 2-1 shootout loss Sunday afternoon that marked the team’s third straight loss. The B’s came out slow and struggled to get anything going, which prompted one reporter to ask Rask if the B’s need to be more relaxed their next time out.
“Maybe mix in a couple beers before the game,” Rask joked. “Relax the nerves. That might be our last option.”
The goalie, who recorded 35 saves in the loss, was also unhappy about it taking the B’s 16:55 to even get its first shot on goal in the first period.
“I have no idea. Honestly. It was embarrassing. I have never seen anything like that. Seventeen minutes without a shot on net.”
