Jon Jones’ failed drug test will cost him more than just a trip to a treatment facility.

The UFC announced Saturday that it has fined the light heavyweight champion $25,000 for violating its Athlete Code of Conduct policy.

Jones tested positive for traces of cocaine in an early December test, the results of which were revealed shortly after he beat Daniel Cormier in UFC 182 to retain his crown.

“The UFC came to this decision after reviewing the facts surrounding the issue, and after receiving confirmation from the Nevada Athletic Commission that Jones passed all required drug tests following his bout at UFC 182 on Jan. 3,” the UFC said in a statement.

Jones issued an apology after the positive drug test and entered into a drug treatment facility. He apparently didn’t stay long, however, as his mother told a local New York news station that her son spent only one night in the facility and plans to attend Sunday’s AFC Championship Game on Sunday in Foxboro, Mass., to watch his brothers, Chandler and Arthur, play for the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts, respectively.
