Among the many things Stuart Scott was during his lifetime, one was a rabid Tar Heels fan.

The late “SportsCenter” anchor, who died Sunday after a long battle with cancer, was a North Carolina alumnus, and the university honored him during Monday’s men’s basketball game against Notre Dame. The players wore “Stu” patches, while the student section held signs during a moment of silence.

The university also released a statement on Scott’s passing, declaring that he’ll be “forever, a Tar Heel.”
