There’s becoming little question as to whether Anthony Davis should be in the NBA MVP discussion.

The New Orleans Pelicans big man is having a ridiculous season, and he added a signature moment Friday night in Oklahoma City against Kevin Durant and the Thunder.

With the game tied 113-113 with 1.2 seconds to play and New Orleans inbounding the ball from the sideline, Davis found a way to get free at the top of the key outside the 3-point line. He eventually got the ball and quickly released a shot with a pair of defenders surrounding him. Davis promptly drilled the 3-pointer as the buzzer sounded to give New Orleans the win, its seventh in its last 10 games.

Incredible.

Davis’ 3-pointer put him over the 40-point mark for the game, as the Kentucky product finished with 41 points.

In his third season as a pro, Davis’ incredible showing is just the latest in what’s been a true breakout season. He’s averaging 24.9 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. Additionally, Davis ranks first in the league in ESPN’s Player Efficiency Rating (PER) by almost three whole points.
