The Boston Bruins announced Saturday morning that defenseman Kevan Miller will miss the rest of the 2014-15 season.

Miller originally dislocated his right shoulder in a fight with Buffalo Sabres forward Nicolas Deslauriers on Oct. 18. The injury kept him out of the lineup for a month.
The shoulder still wasn’t 100 percent when Miller returned to game action, and the defenseman said earlier this month that it was something he had to “learn to play with and learn to adapt to.”
Miller’s absence from the blue line leaves the Bruins with six defenseman on the NHL roster. It’s possible the Bruins could recall a defenseman from the AHL’s Providence Bruins, but nothing has been announced at this time.
Miller tallied seven points (two goals, five assists) and averaged 18:02 of ice time in 41 games this season.
