You’ve gotta be good to be lucky and lucky to be good, and Carter Hutton was both Tuesday night.

The Nashville Predators goalie turned in what might be the NHL’s save of the season so far in an eventual 4-3 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Making things even more impressive, Hutton’s jaw-dropping stop came in the third period with the game on the line. With the Preds clinging to that one-goal lead, the Maple Leafs looked to be in position to score the game-tying goal. The puck bounced toward the net and took a wicked hop after a redirection. The bouncing puck got by Hutton, but he flailed back and threw out his stick to make an insane no-look stick save.

Hutton made headlines last season, too, for not giving up on a play. He made an incredible glove save against the Philadelphia Flyers last January.
