Darrelle Revis: ‘I Would Love To’ Stay With New England Patriots

The New England Patriots’ chances of repeating as Super Bowl champions could hinge on one major offseason decision.

The Patriots hold a $20 million option for All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis, who completely changed the dynamic of New England’s defense this season. It remains to be seen whether the Pats will exercise the option, negotiate a new contract with Revis or simply move on from the six-time Pro Bowl selection, but it’s clear he wants to stick around.

“I would love to, man,” Revis said Sunday after the Patriots’ Super Bowl XLIX win over the Seattle Seahawks. “It’s the offseason. I’m just going to enjoy this whole month, man, just celebrating and looking back on this moment.”

Revis, who previously played for the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, faced plenty of questions before Sunday’s big game regarding his uncertain future. He took everything in stride, which isn’t too surprising given the way he adjusted to the “Patriot Way” throughout his first season in New England.
