Jones will miss “a couple weeks” of action, but he’s expected to be ready for the New England Revolution’s 2015 MLS season opener March 8 against the Seattle Sounders.

Jones participated in the U.S. men’s national team’s January training camp and played 90 minutes in both of Team USA’s recent exhibition games against Chile and Panama.

Jones will undergo surgery in Southern California and recover at home with his family, according to MLSSoccer.com. The surgery will sideline Jones for a portion of the Revolution’s preseason training camp.
