Everything’s turning up Jon Lester.
The new Chicago Cubs ace is already down in Arizona preparing for his first spring training in the desert, and he couldn’t have asked for a much better start to the season. Lester spent Wednesday golfing with fellow Cubs pitcher Travis Wood, coach Eric Hinske and the Tampa Bay Rays’ Evan Longoria when he sunk a hole-in-one at the seventh hole at Estancia Golf Club in Scottsdale.
Longoria confirmed the feat on Twitter a short time later.

Lester also posted a photo of the golf ball and the scorecard, while noting it was the first round he’s played all year. No big deal.

This of course means the southpaw officially has more hole-in-ones than base hits, as one buzzkill Twitter follower pointed out. Lester is 0-for-36 in his career at the plate.

This is the year, Cubs fans.
