Sam Macasay just wanted his homemade Lombardi Trophy back, and he got quite a bit more than he bargained for.
The New England Patriots fan reached out to Marcus Cannon on Twitter looking for the replica trophy, which he handed off to the tackle during the Patriots’ Super Bowl parade on Feb. 4. Cannon promised to send it to Macasay, but he ended up doing him one better.
On Valentine’s Day, Cannon showed up to the hardware store in Cambridge, Mass., where Macasay works to personally deliver the faux trophy.

“One day I came into work and the trophy was on the counter,” Macasay told Patriots.com on Thursday. “I asked my friend where it came from and out comes Marcus Cannon. It was crazy. I couldn’t believe he was there.”
Not only did Cannon return the trophy, but he also gave Macasay his jacket from Super Bowl Media Day. The 6-foot-5, 335-pound tackle isn’t exactly his size, but Macasay appreciated the gift all the same.
“It’s huge,” Macasay said. “It’s 4XL, but on the real cold days I can wear two jackets and put that over it. I’ve worn it every day since.”
